Salida, Colorado was the scene of one of many special events celebrating October 3rd, 2009 as International Day of Felt. Across the globe, people of all ages came together to learn about the ancient technique of wool felting and meet the artists who do it. PJ Bergin, contemporary felt artist led two workshops at a great fiber store on F Street called "Fringe". Eighteen people all had fun learning how to take wool roving, hand-dyed by PJ, make it into a ball, compress it in warm soapy water and then shape it into a vessel of their choosing.
